Breaking out an old driveway, slab or path? Clean concrete loads get our lowest heavy waste price, and there’s never a weight charge on our 2–8m³ bins.
Loads that are 100% concrete are cheaper to dispose of, so we pass the saving on. Reinforcing mesh and reo bar are fine.
Concrete is about as heavy as waste gets. In our 2–8m³ heavy waste bins you won’t pay a cent more for weight.
Hire a 1.7t excavator with a hydraulic hammer to break the slab, then load the pieces straight into the bin.

The concrete-only rate applies when the load is just concrete. If bricks, tiles, soil or other rubbish get mixed in, the bin is charged at the standard heavy waste price instead. Still no weight limit, just not the concrete discount.
Concrete is dense, so you rarely need a big bin. A 2m³ or 3m³ handles most single-driveway breakouts, and a 4m³ covers larger slabs. Load it level with the top and keep it inside the bin so it can be lifted safely.
Yes. Mesh and reo bar can stay in the concrete and the load still counts as concrete only.
That’s fine. It just goes at the normal heavy waste price instead of the concrete-only rate. There’s still no weight limit.
Most single driveways fit in a 2m³ or 3m³ heavy waste bin. Call us with the size of the slab and we’ll help you work it out.
